About

I am interested in the changing notions of American masculinity and how it is impacting this crucial juncture in U.S. history. My artworks reexamine traditional male and female Americana subjects through a lens of violence and fire. While I appreciate the inherent subversive nature of painting American iconography with gunpowder, I also have deep reverence for these subjects and how they have shaped the man I am.

My art is inspired by my childhood growing up in a military family with roots in the South and my adult life as an artist in New York City.
